GOT THE NOVEMBER BLUES? CHRISTMAS LOOMING & FEELING UNINSPIRED?
Book a stay at Tregolls Farm, where you can truly relax and unwind in the run-up to the Festive Season and once recharged, head down to the vibrant city of Truro, Cornwall’s Capital, for the highlight of the year on Wednesday 19th November at 6.30pm!
25,000 people are attracted to Truro every year to join in with the feast of music, dance and the visual spectacle of the stunning City of Lights Festival procession and the turning on of the Truro Christmas Lights.
This fantastic wicker lantern procession includes a multitude of community groups and schools and some extraordinary grand lantern “sculptures” by professional artists. This year’s theme is Heros so we can be assured of epic additions in 2014!
A feast of music and dancing, including samba, brass bands, pipes and drums accompanies the procession and street artists are also in evidence from 5.30pm – exhilarating and magical!
If you want to take part in the parade there is a free Community Lantern Workshop at Truro Community Library on Saturday 15th November from 11am-3pm where you can make your very own lantern and join in the parade. Booking for the workshop is essential as places are limited. Children under 14 years much be accompanied by an adult.
Once the dazzling lights of the procession dim, make your weary way home to Tregolls Farm and snuggle up infront of the fire before drifting into glittering, contented dreams….
