The Largest puppet in the UK is currently touring Cornwall in the shape of "Man Engine". He's a glorious 10.51 metre steel Cornish Miner and is an incredible sight to see if you are staying in Cornwall over the next couple of weeks.
Wherever the Man-engine goes he brings with him traditional Cornish song, stories and celebrations. People who have seen him were stunned at how human emotions can be shown in the steel face and celebration is only part of his purpose as the storyteller gently reminds the crowds that flock to see him, that part of his purpose is to remember the 1000s of men who risked and sometimes lost their lives down mines all over Cornwall; a really poignant message.
If you would like to see a real piece of history, The Man Engine is visiting:
28 St Austell
1 Wheal Coates, St Agnes
6 Geevor Tin Mine
The video doesn't do him justice, but will give you an idea!
