    Christmas Adventure away from Home

    October 30, 2018

Christmas can be such a magical time, especially when you have young children eagerly awaiting the arrival of Father Christmas, but as they have a tendency of growing up and spoiling our fun, then there may come a time to consider taking Christmas somewhere new!

It can be such an exciting adventure to go somewhere different for Christmas, a destination where you can take the Christmas traditions you like and leave behind the ones you don’t!  But who wants a Christmas holiday when the beginning and end are fraught with the stress of the inevitable strikes and bad weather delays of a heaving airport?  No problem!  Come to Cornwall!

Here’s a few tips to ensure your Christmas Adventure is all you dreamed it could be and more…

    Bring Your Favourite Traditions

    Christmas Decorations

Tregolls Farm will supply your cottage with a beautiful real Christmas tree, ready decorated, but there is always room for you to bring your favourite decorations to add to the tree, be it a special bauble, some home-made ones that you just couldn’t leave, or the icing on the cake, you own star!  If one of the special traditions for you is the decorating itself, then just let us know and we’ll leave the decorating of your real Christmas tree to you!

    Stockings and presents

Do you give each other secret presents every year?  No problem!  Just don’t forget to pack your Christmas stocking and visit the countless Christmas markets all around Cornwall to find something really unique for your loved one.

    Christmas carols or Slade?

Whichever makes Christmas for you, make sure you record a favourite Christmas playlist to bring with you.  If you really love your carols bring some sheet music with you – our cottages have thick walls so don’t worry about the neighbours!

    Do something new

    Christmas activities

There’s lots to do over the Christmas period – just ask Marilyn or have a look at our December blogs for ideas.  Visit the legendary Mousehole Christmas lights and treat yourselves to fish and chips by the harbourside or pop over to the Eden Project which always has some real Christmas magic, along with a skating rink (and follow it with a steaming and delicious hot chocolate!)

Plymouth and Truro offer some wonderful productions and concerts, so take some time to have a look online and book yourselves a theatrical treat.

    Relax

Yes, relax!  Something you rarely do at Christmas but an absolute must as you enjoy beautiful Cornwall at its Christmassy best!
