Lovely walk on the stunning Coastal Path!
Heligan - the Indiana Jones experience!
Walking in Cornwall
There are lots of beautiful walks from Tregolls out into the countryside, through peaceful Cornish villages, with secret gems of pubs and cafes, lovely scenery, and ancient monuments and churches to explore along the way. Roads around St Wenn are narrow, but quiet, so walkers may walk in relative safety through the countryside. Marilyn and Lester would be happy to recommend places to visit in the surrounding area. They may also be available to pick you up at the end of the day, but please discuss this with them before making firm plans as it may not always be possible.
If you prefer to avoid cars altogether, The Saints Way is just around 400m down the road. It stretches from the beautiful harbour towns of Padstow in the North to Fowey in the South, over a stunning 27 miles of countryside.
A little further afield, the South West Coastal Path provides breathtaking views of the varied and stunning Cornish Coast and beyond. There's also lots of pubs and cafes along the route, often with beautiful sea views, to rest weary feet!
Back at Tregolls there are facilities to wash off and store muddy boots.
Because of Cornwall's warm climate with acidic soil, the many gardens are particularly stunning and unlike gardens elsewhere in the UK. They are often very large and varied in styles. Some, like the Lost Gardens of Heligan are perfect for the hardened walker!
Local Taxi Companies operate from nearby Bodmin or Wadebridge.
