Lanhydrock, but not as you know it!
On a hot Summer’s day when you are seeking a cool alternative to the usual holiday haunts why not pop down to Lanhydrock where there’s a host of things to do that you may not expect…Yes, there’s a stunning National Trust property with stunning gardens, but that’s not what we’re on about!
There’s a new and exciting addition which we wandered around recently, where cyclists of every ability can have a fantastic time on the Lanhydrock Bike Trails. Trails are well signed and laid out in acres of woodland; routes vary from 1-3 miles long and are marked according to difficulty. The Green Lodge Trail (1.5 miles) has well laid, wide surfaces, suitable for bikes with trailers and disability bikes too, and this is shared with some pedestrians (like us!)
The Blue and Red Trails range from mainly easy trails with technical challenges to really tricky stuff on the red trails.
If you have beginner cyclists in your group there’s also a Skills Area where young cyclists can improve their riding skills and gain more confidence.
If you haven’t brought your own bikes, there is a good bike hire shop on site and a lovely new café with good quality coffee and some real treats to entice you after your long ride!
We took a few photos of the trail which you’ll find on the Gallery page and next time we’re definitely taking our bikes! In the meantime, if any guests go (or have already been) please do send us a photo to share.
