The Best Ice Cream Stops to Visit During Your Cornwall Holiday

A Cornwall holiday isn’t complete without an ice cream.

Whether you’ve spent the day on the beach, wandered around a pretty harbour town or explored one of Cornwall’s many attractions, there’s always a good excuse to stop for a scoop. Luckily, Cornwall is home to some fantastic ice cream makers, many of which are within easy reach of Tregolls Farm.

If you’re staying with us, here are a few of our favourite places to add to your summer itinerary.

1. Callestick Farm

Just outside Truro, Callestick Farm has been making award-winning Cornish ice cream for over 30 years. Their ice cream is made using milk from the farm’s own Jersey cows, and with plenty of flavours to choose from, it’s always worth a stop.

There’s also a café, outdoor seating and a play area, making it a great choice for families.

Approximate drive from Tregolls Farm: 35 minutes

2. Moomaid of Zennor

If you’re spending the day in Padstow, make sure you stop for a Moomaid ice cream.

Made using milk from their own herd of cows near Zennor, Moomaid has become one of Cornwall’s best-loved ice cream brands. From classic Cornish vanilla to more adventurous seasonal flavours, there’s something for everyone.

You’ll find Moomaid in Padstow, St Ives and several other locations across Cornwall.

3. Roskilly’s

Roskilly’s is much more than an ice cream shop.

Set on an organic dairy farm on the Lizard Peninsula, it’s a lovely place to spend an afternoon. Alongside homemade ice cream, you’ll find a café, farm animals and beautiful countryside walks, making it an ideal day out if you’re exploring Cornwall’s south coast.

Approximate drive from Tregolls Farm: Around 1 hour

4. Ruby’s Ice Cream

Ruby’s has quickly become a favourite with both locals and visitors.

Known for its luxury Cornish ice cream, colourful parlours and generous portions, it’s the perfect place to cool down after a day at the beach. You’ll find Ruby’s in Newquay, Fowey, Marazion and Mevagissey.

If you’re heading to Newquay for the day, we’d definitely recommend stopping by.

5. Kelly’s

No Cornwall ice cream list would be complete without Kelly’s.

Made with Cornish milk and clotted cream, it’s a true Cornish classic and one you’ll spot in cafés, beach kiosks and attractions all over the county. Sometimes, the simple favourites really are the best.

Explore Cornwall, Then Return to the Countryside

One of the things guests love most about staying at Tregolls Farm is our location.

We’re tucked away in the peaceful North Cornwall countryside, but within easy driving distance of beaches, harbour towns, family attractions and some of the county’s best food and drink.

That means you can spend the day exploring, enjoy an ice cream by the sea, then return to the farm to relax, whether that’s watching the sunset across the fields or unwinding in Rose Cottage’s new outdoor bath.
